REWARDS OF FAITHFUL SERVICE

1 Samuel 9:22 Then Samuel brought Saul and his servant into the hall and placed them at the head of the table, honoring them above the thirty special guests.

King Saul had a servant who escorted him while he went in search of the missing donkeys of his father. There is great reward in faithful service. In today's
world service has been painted as demeaning. No one wants to serve but wants to be Lord. The model of Christian leadership is service. Luke 22:25-27 Jesus told them, “In this world the kings and great men lord it over their people, yet they are called ‘friends of the people.’ But among you it will be different.

Those who are the greatest among you should take the lowest rank, and the leader should be like a servant. Who is more important, the one who sits at the table or the one who serves? The one who sits at the table, of course. But not here! For I am among you as one who serves. When Saul's servant faithfully followed him in his search for the missing donkeys, when the time of elevation came both Saul and the servant were honoured above the thirty guests. If you are a servant be faithful you will be honoured in due course. Even if your master doesn't reward you, God in heaven will reward you and honour you.

Prayer: Father I thank you for the privilege of service. Give me a genuine heart to serve faithfully to the very end in Jesus' name. Amen
