THE HELP OF GOD

Psalms 12:5-6 The lord replies, “I have seen violence done to the helpless,  and I have heard the groans of the poor. Now I will rise to rescue them, as they have longed for me to do.”
The lord’s promises are pure, like silver refined in a furnace, purified seven times over.

The poor, helpless, and destitute are at the end of receiving injustice. Our text today is God's response to the oppression of the poor.

One of the commonest forms of oppression that abound is violence. Violence is an action which causes destruction, pain, wrongdoing or suffering. God is saying when these things are being done to the I see. Then God also says I have heard the groans of the poor. Groan is a low, mournful sound uttered in pain or grief. It is important to pray to God in times of distress. God saw how Hannah's rival Peninnah frustrated Hannah, yet seeing alone did not make God act until Hannah went to a place of prayer. 1 Samuel 1:6 And her rival also provoked her severely, to make her miserable, because the Lord had closed her womb.

1 Samuel 1:10- 13 And she was in bitterness of soul and prayed to the Lord and wept in anguish. Then she made a vow and said, “O Lord of hosts, if You will indeed look on the affliction of Your maidservant and remember me, and not forget Your maidservant, but will give Your maidservant a male child, then I will give him to the Lord all the days of his life, and no razor shall come upon his head.” And it happened, as she continued praying before the Lord, that Eli watched her mouth. Now Hannah spoke in her heart; only her lips moved, but her voice was not heard. Therefore Eli thought she was drunk. When afflicted, pray; that is what will cause God to rise and come to your aid as you desire. Your desires will be answered perfectly, even beyond your wildest imagination. O! What peace we often forfeit because we do not carry our burdens to God in Prayer.

Prayer: Father, I come to you this day with the groanings of my heart hear and help me in Jesus' name. Amen
