THE POWER OF THANKSGIVING

Psalms 50:23 But giving thanks is a sacrifice that truly honors me. If you keep to my path, I will reveal to you the salvation of God."

One of the greatest mysteries on earth is the salvation of God. It has been kept from the wise and revealed to the simple-hearted. But it is the will of God to show it to many people as possible. How, then, are we privileged to receive this great mystery. The power behind thanksgiving reveals the power of God's salvation. This is God Himself speaking in our verse for today, and He is saying thanksgiving is a sacrifice that honours Him, and if we keep to this path called thanksgiving, we will receive insight about salvation.
As humans, we have the natural tendency to be ungrateful toward God. The story of the ten lepers who Jesus Christ cleansed shows how thankless we can be to the amazement of God.  Luke 17:15-17 One of them, when he saw that he was healed, came back to Jesus, shouting, "Praise God, I'm healed!" He fell face down on the ground at Jesus' feet, thanking him for what he had done. This man was a Samaritan. Jesus asked, " Didn't I heal ten men? Where are the other nine?
This story shows we have just ten percent of the human population being thankful to God. If we cannot thank God for the things He has done for us, how can we thank him for those He is yet to do, which is the highest form of thankfulness. Thanksgiving is not done out of convenience; it is in the rank of sacrifice and is an offering to God. Beloved, have we offered your sacrifice of thanksgiving to the Lord today? Those who did not return to God were healed, but the one who gave thanks was made whole. Healing takes in specific areas and parts but being made whole addresses all life issues. Do you want to be healed or made whole? Choose to be thankful at all times, for there is power in thanksgiving.

Prayer: Father, I thank and praise you, for you have done and all that you are yet to do. Holy Spirit continue to cause me to overflow with thanksgiving to my maker in Jesus' name. Amen.
