DANGER WITHIN
Psalms 55:10 -11 Its walls are patrolled day and night against invaders, but the real danger is wickedness within the city.
Murder and robbery are everywhere there; threats and cheating are rampant in the streets.
Two days ago, Uvalde, a small community in Texas, witnessed a horrific tragedy. An eighteen-year-old member of that community went into Robb Elementary School to kill about fourteen plus children plus two teachers. It is true what Jesus Christ said in Matthew 10:36 Your enemies will be right in your own household!
If there are high crime rates and corruption in a country, the perpetrators will hardly be foreigners. Those involved in the act are nationals of that country. You build your house, build a wall around it, plus a security fence, yet in that same house, theft issues occur. There is danger within. Human, by nature, likes to probe the problems from the outside, but charity begins at home.
At national, regional, family, and personal levels, we should start looking within for danger signs and how to curb them. The bible says guard your heart, for out of it comes the issues of life. Nations, institutions, families, and individuals must return to God. Let's stop trusting systems, policies, and interventions as solutions to danger. It is the gospel of Christ Jesus that can convert a criminal into a commendable person. Families must go back to the practice of devotional times. The teachings of Christ Jesus must be promoted at all levels. Matthew 22:37 & 39 Jesus replied, " 'You must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your mind.'
A second is equally important: 'Love your neighbor as yourself.'
Prayer: Holy Spirit, in Jesus' name, convict the world of their sins by the power of the preaching of the gospel of Jesus Christ. Let many turn unto righteousness in Jesus' name.
