ATTRACTING JOY

Psalms 45:7 You love righteousness and hate wickedness: therefore God, your God, has anointed you with the oil of gladness above your fellows.

There's a difference between joy and happiness. Joy is a gift of the Holy Spirit, while happiness is an expression of emotion. Happiness is experienced based on happenings around while joy emanates from within. One can be joyful in the face of adversity. The joy of the Lord is our strength indeed. Joy is an anointing from the Lord upon those who love righteousness and hate wickedness.
Sin makes you happy for a while but leaves you with the burden of guilt. Judas Iscariot was happy when he was offered thirty pieces of silver to deny Jesus Christ, but in the end, his life was filled with guilt, and he became suicidal till he eventually died. Don't ever fall into the error of thinking perpetrators of evil are have joy. No, they don't; what they have are misery and guilt.
Dear one, rejoice in righteousness because every act gives you an advantage of attracting the oil of joy. If there is the oil of joy for those who love righteousness, indeed there is the oil of pain and misery for those who love wicked. And we know joy is a fruit of the Holy Spirit and an anointing from God. But the latter is from the devil, the destroyer. The anointing you love; you attract. If you love righteousness, you will get the oil of joy; if you love wickedness, you will attract the oil of misery. Beloved, reflect, think and act. What oil are you attracting?

Prayer: Holy Spirit, as I desire to love right, increase the fruit of joy within me, and may the oil of gladness overflow in my life in Jesus' name. Amen.
