BELIEVE WHEN YOU PRAY

Psalms 13:5-6 But I trust in your unfailing love. I will rejoice because you have rescued me. I will sing to the lord because he is good to me.

Psalm thirteen starts with the writer expressing his struggles. In verse 1, he asks, How long will you forget me? Will you forget me forever?

How long will you look the other way? He talks about waiting for the Lord for a long time.In verse two, he mentions his soul is full of sorrow and struggle. Verse three continues with, O Lord, turn and answer me! Restore sparkle to my eyes, or I will die. The writer is clearly praying and feeling desperate.

Verse four says, Don't let my enemies gloat over me, saying they have defeated him. Don't let them rejoice at my fall. But then, in verse five, there is a change. He declares, But I trust in your unfailing love; I will rejoice because you have rescued me. So, what can we learn from this?

When we pray as believers, we should trust in our prayers. Even though the writer started with complaints and pleas for rescue, he ended with faith in God's love. The Bible says that a double-minded person cannot receive anything from the Lord. Whatever we ask in faith, we should believe we have received it.

Prayer: Father, I come to you this day with the groanings of my heart hear and help me in Jesus' name. Amen
