THE REMEDY FOR DOUBT

Acts 17:11-12 And the people of Berea were more open-minded than those in Thessalonica, and they listened eagerly to Paul’s message. They searched the Scriptures day after day to see if Paul and Silas were teaching the truth. As a result, many Jews believed, as did many of the prominent Greek women and men.

The Christian faith is not for the
closed-minded.Those who are unwilling
 to alter their habits of thinking cannot
accept or receive the teachings of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Anyone who desires to accept the Lord Jesus Christ must first be open-minded and prepared to let go of their preconceived notions.
Matthew 9:17 Nor do they put new wine into old wineskins, or else the wineskins break, the wine is spilled, and the wineskins are ruined. But they put new wine into new wineskins, and both are preserved."

Second, you need to be eager to pay attention. Hearing God's Word results in faith. Your level of disbelief is a result of all you have heard throughout the years. You get an anti-Christ perspective on things when you listen to people's anti-Christ notions and fantasy. You must hear something new in order to believe. You cannot know God apart from His written Word, so in order to believe in God, you must listen to His Word. Search the Bible, not other books, as your third step. Teachings concerning God can only be found in the Bible.

God's word has either been cited or referenced in books or other places where it can be found in order to serve a purpose. You don't get the complete picture from it. The Old Testament was the only scripture available when Paul was with the Jews of Berea. Jewish professors in Jerusalem also had access to the Old Testament, but they were unable to accept Jesus Christ. The Jews of Berea examined the same passage of scripture and contrasted it with what they had been told by the Apostles, in accordance with what they believed.

Thessalonica's Jewish residents and teachers shared the same issue with narrow thinking. When you read the Bible, what you see and believe will depend on your mental state. Some people have studied the Bible and trusted in Jesus Christ for salvation, while others are still finding it difficult to view Jesus Christ as the blueprint for the bible. Beloved, if you study the Bible with an open mind, pay attention, and search it sincerely in prayer, seeking the Holy Spirit for insight, you will believe and not have any doubts.

Prayer: In the name of Jesus, I pray that the Holy Spirit provide me the understanding to see Jesus Christ as I listen to and study the Bible. It is my greatest goal to know Jesus Christ and to know Him better. Amen.
