THE SAME MAN

Acts 9:21 All who heard him were amazed. “Isn’t this the same man who caused such devastation among Jesus’ followers in Jerusalem?” they asked. “And didn’t he come here to arrest them and take them in chains to the leading priests?”

It was a real surprise to the people of Damascus when they saw murderer Paul preaching the gospel instead of persecuting believers. They knew him and his assignment among believers. Acts 9:21 All who heard him were amazed. “Isn’t this the same man who caused such devastation among Jesus’ followers in Jerusalem?” they asked. “And didn’t he come here to arrest them and take them in chains to the leading priests?”

It is possible for murderers, prostitutes, hookers, addicts, the LGBTQ+ community and anyone known for any form of evil in society to change at an encounter with Jesus Christ. The highest form of evil in society is murder but God forgave Saul Tarsaus and turned him into a great preacher of the gospel. Through Christ Jesus, we have forgiveness of sins. Beloved you don't have to die in your sin.

Others like you and even those with worse situations have taken advantage of the finished work of Christ Jesus on the cross. They have believed and have been forgiven. 2 Corinthians 5:19 For God was in Christ, reconciling the world to himself, no longer counting people’s sins against them. And he gave us this wonderful message of reconciliation. Beloved on the waters of sin that drowns to death there is only one lifeboat that sails over it and that lifeboat is the cross of Jesus Christ.

If you swim towards it and hang it, He will carry you safely to the shore of eternity. You will have peace with God and live well with your fellow humans. They said about Paul is it, not the same man that killed believers. Yes, he was the same man but on a different mission. You can also be the same person among those who know but with a different mission. It all starts with an encounter with Jesus Christ.

Prayer: Jesus Christ just as I am, I come hanging on the cross for the forgiveness of my sins. As I return Holy Spirit send me as the same person with a different mission in Jesus' name. Amen.
