OUR PROTECTOR

Acts 23:23-24 Then the commander called two of his officers and ordered, “Get 200 soldiers ready to leave for Caesarea at nine o’clock tonight. Also take 200 spearmen and 70 mounted troops. Provide horses for Paul to ride, and get him safely to Governor Felix.”

Our text for today talks about the Apostle Paul as a prisoner of Jesus Christ who has been threatened with death. In his appeal to appear before Caesarea, the Lord displays His great and mighty Hand. We need to understand in our walk with the Lord one of the provisions available to us is His protection. Acts 23:12-14 The next morning a group of Jews got together and bound themselves with an oath not to eat or drink until they had killed Paul.

There were more than forty of them in the conspiracy. They went to the leading priests and elders and told them, “We have bound ourselves with an oath to eat nothing until we have killed Paul. This was Paul's fate, forty men were determined in their hearts to kill him at all cost but God was more determined to protect Paul. More soldiers were dispatched to ensure Paul's security and safe arrival before Caesarea.

Acts 23:23-24 Then the commander called two of his officers and ordered, “Get 200 soldiers ready to leave for Caesarea at nine o’clock tonight. Also take 200 spearmen and 70 mounted troops. Provide horses for Paul to ride, and get him safely to Governor Felix.” Paul's escort was close to five hundred men plus horses and weapons ten times more than those who roused against him. Just as Elisha told his servant in 2 Kings 6:16 “Don’t be afraid!” Elisha told him. “For there are more on our side than on theirs!” Don't be afraid of them that seek to destroy you. You have heaven's army on your side. You are protected every day of your life. 

Prayer: Father in the name of Jesus Christ protect me against evil schemes and raise for me an army that will ensure my daily security in Jesus' name.
