THE FOLLOW GENERATION

Acts 20:30 Even some men from your own group will rise up and distort the truth in order to draw a following.

One of the trends in our generation is to follow people, products, places, events goods and services. Everything is craving for followership. In following there are questions you need to ask yourself. What are you being called into? What will be my gains in following? The word follow is not to be taken lightly, in following is the word making. Anytime you follow someone or anything you are being made into something consciously or unconsciously that is why you have to be very careful who and what you follow.

Matthew 4:19 Then He said to them, "Follow Me, and I will make you fishers of men." When Jesus Christ called Peter and his two brothers He had something in mind He wanted to make them, "fishers of men". When anyone asks for your followership there is something they desire to make you into. After Jesus Christ had called Peter, he in return asked Jesus Christ about the benefits of following Him.

Matthew 19:27,29 Then Peter answered and said to Him, "See, we have left all and followed You. Therefore what shall we have?" ... And everyone who has left houses or brothers or sisters or father or mother or wife or children or lands, for My name`s sake, shall receive a hundredfold, and inherit eternal life. The benefits of following have in it eternal life. Anyone who you seek to follow and who will teach you the way of eternal life is not worth following.

1 Corinthians 11:1 Imitate me, just as I also imitate Christ. Most people in these last days who are seeking followers have turned away from the truth including men and women of God. Acts 20:30 Even some men from your own group will rise up and distort the truth in order to draw a following. People have brought up all sorts of things just to draw following. Be very careful in your attempt to follow least you follow wrongly and miss out on eternal life.

Prayer: Holy Spirit give me every discernment I need so I do not follow the wrong people in Jesus' name. Amen.
