THE UNMATCHED PREDATOR

Isaiah 31:4-5 But the Lord has told me this: "When a lion, even a young one, kills a sheep, it pays no attention to the shepherd's shouts and noise. It just goes right on eating. In the same way, the Lord Almighty will come and fight on Mount Zion. He will not be frightened away!  The Lord Almighty will hover over Jerusalem as a bird hovers around its nest. He will defend and save the city; he will pass over it and rescue it."

Homeowners and landlords fear and tremble at the gunpoint, the gun makes fathers who are supposed to be shepherds in the home feeble but these robbers are frightened and often run away at the arrival of security personnel and by the noise of their sirens. In the example above the predator got scared at the arrival of the shepherds and watchmen of the home. It means in this instance the predator becomes prey within a twinkle of an eye. But today in our verse under study. God speaking through the prophet Isaiah said some predators cannot be matched, and the noise and the screams of the owners cannot bring deliverance to the prey. "When a lion kills a sheep the noise it pays no attention to the noise of the shepherd".

We belong to the Lion of the tribe of Judah. Ideally, no animal dares prey on the lion but there are a few who come to throw their weight about. As children who are offsprings of the Lion of Judah - Jesus Christ, the devil who is an antelope dares us; behaving like a lion. At the instance where the devil tries to prey on us, there and then the true predator Jesus Christ shows up as our Mighty Warrior. When any predator from the pit of hell tries to lay hold on the pride of lions that belongs to Jesus Christ, God says, it does not matter the noise that comes from the camp of the devil; God is not moved. Matthew 16:18 I will build My church, and the gates of Hades shall not prevail against it. God is in your life as a Mighty Warrior ready to defend and protect you. He will protect and save you, no harm shall befall you.

Prayer: Lord Jesus Christ I thank you for your promise of protection over life. Thank you that you are in my life as a Mighty Warrior and Saviour. Amen
