THE HIGHWAY OF HOLINESS

Isaiah 35:8 A great road will go through that once deserted land. It will be named the Highway of Holiness. Evil-hearted people will never travel on it. It will be only for those who walk in God's ways; fools will never walk there.

Deserted lands and buildings are often occupied by wild animals, criminals and miscreants in society. I watched a documentary where the deserted Children's park in Kumasi has been occupied by miscreants, it has a library and other facilities that can help the children in the region but once it has been deserted it is of no relevance. A time comes when desert places see a facelift. When the government, an institution or individual moves to a deserted place to develop it, squatters are moved out, miscreants move out, and even insects and pest finds their way out because great work is ongoing. After the work is done the former occupants dare not return there.
It is furnished and filled with the appropriate logistics and human resources for work to commence as purposed by the owners. It is guarded against intruders and the road or institution is named for all to know what is done there.

Jesus Christ has also become a great way to pass through deserted lands. John 14:6 Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.
The way to the Father is called the Highway of Holiness and that Highway is Jesus's Christ. These are the very words of Jesus Christ.  Matthew 7:13-14 "You can enter God's Kingdom only through the narrow gate. The highway to hell is broad, and its gate is wide for the many who choose the easy way. But the gateway to life is small, and the road is narrow, and only a few ever find it. Another name for the Highway of Jesus Christ is the Narrow Road. The highway to hell is broad. On the broad road leading to hell, there are many options and open alternatives. You have multiple gods to choose from as your object of worship, you can have different sexual orientations to choose from, you can believe anything, drink anything, wear anything and so on. But on the narrow path, you have only one option looking unto Jesus Christ who is the author and finisher of your faith. He says in the beginning God created them male and female. Mark 12:29 Jesus replied, " The most important commandment is this: 'Hear, O Israel! The Lord our God is the one and only Lord. On the narrow path, there are no options. Our only option is Jesus Christ. The Highway in eternity will only be used by those who walked in Christ Jesus here on earth.

Prayer: Lord Jesus Christ I admit you are the way the truth and the life. Today I accept to be my Lord and Saviour, write my name in the book of life so that I may be part of those that will walk in the Highway of Holiness in Jesus' name. Amen
