THE GREAT SUBSTITUTION
Isaiah 32:15 until at last the Spirit is poured down upon us from heaven. Then the wilderness will become a fertile field, and the fertile field will become a lush and fertile forest.
We have entered the football season. Where the world is waiting for the kick-off of the world cup. As the matches are being played coaches, commentators, fans and spectators will be calling for substitution when they notice those on the field of play are not getting the desired results. The reason for substitution is to change the course of the game to get a win. In every facet of life, game changers are needed. They bring hope, fresh energy and success to the table. In God's agenda for humanity, substitutions took place. Formerly the blood of goats, bulls and calves substituted for the atonement of the sins of people but that could not bring the desired results. Hebrews 9:11-12 But Christ came as High Priest of the good things to come, with the greater and more perfect tabernacle not made with hands, that is, not of this creation. Not with the blood of goats and calves, but with His blood He entered the Most Holy Place once for all, having obtained eternal redemption. The first verse of Isaiah 32 points to Jesus Christ. Isaiah 32:1 Look, a righteous king is coming! And honest princes will rule under him.
Indeed Christ came to die for sinners. 1 Timothy 1:15 This is a true saying, and everyone should believe it: Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners—and I was the worst of them all. Christ Jesus unlike other human substitutions made on the field and in other sectors who are not even aware they are going to be changed and sometimes are not happy about the change was fully aware that His work was completed and was joyful announcing His substitute the Holy Spirit.
John 16:7-9 Nevertheless I tell you the truth. It is to your advantage that I go away; for if I do not go away, the Helper will not come to you; but if I depart, I will send Him to you. And when He has come, He will convict the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment: of sin, because they do not believe in Me.
Christ has forgiven all our sins but is the Holy Spirit that will help us live a victorious life as believers and overcome challenges and arsenals thrown for the pit of hell. It will take the Holy Spirit to move us from the wilderness to a fertile field and then from a fertile field to a fertile forest. The Holy Spirit is in charge of your progress.
Prayer: Holy Spirit pour down from Heaven now upon my life and all that I do. Move me from one level to another in Jesus' name. Amen
