THE ENEMY OF GOD

Isaiah 23:9 The Lord Almighty has done it to destroy your pride and show his contempt for all human greatness.

Some things and occurrences are done by humans and some are done by God. Even the things done by God are initiated by human beings when we call on Him in prayer. God does nothing unless a human being calls Him to act. But there seems to be one thing God does without human interference which is dealing with the issues of pride. 1Peter 5:5 In the same way, you who are younger, submit yourselves to your elders. All of you, clothe yourselves with humility toward one another, because, "God opposes the proud but shows favour to the humble." The devil is the source of pride, breeding pride in the heart of men. The devil does not resist proud people, God is in charge of their resistance. Proud people want to ascend to places where God has not called them to be and to be what they are not made to be.

Isaiah 14:12 -15 How you have fallen from heaven, morning star, son of the dawn! You have been cast down to the earth, you who once laid low the nations! You said in your heart, "I will ascend to the heavens; I will raise my throne above the stars of God; I will sit enthroned on the mount of assembly, on the utmost heights of Mount Zaphon. 
I will ascend above the tops of the clouds; I will make myself like the Most High." But you are brought down to the realm of the dead, to the depths of the pit. The demotion that God brings to people with pride is one of a kind. It can be likened to falling from Grace to grass or being translated from life to death.
God hates pride, it is the enemy of God. If a proud person is going down is not the work of the devil is the work of God. Pride destroyed the devil and decided his fate a long time ago, he is going about planting seeds of pride in the heart of people so he would share the same fate with them. Outsmart the devil and humble yourself under the Grace of God so that you may obtain eternal life and experience God's lifting in your due season. 1Peter 5:6 Humble yourselves, therefore, under God’s mighty hand, that he may lift you up in due time.

Prayer: Holy Spirit rid my heart of any seed of pride and arrogance. Help me to stay humble under the mighty hand of God in Jesus' name. Amen.
