WHEN YOUR HELP IS NOT NEEDED
1Samuel 29:6 So Achish called David and said to him, "As surely as the LORD lives, you have been reliable, and I would be pleased to have you serve with me in the army. From the day you came to me until today, I have found no fault in you, but the rulers don’t approve of you.
To Achish, David was a very reliable person but the commanders of the Philistines did not trust him. No matter how genuine you are some people will question your integrity. People will always judge you by one thing they have heard about you.1 Samuel 29:5 Isn’t this the David they sang about in their dances: "’ Saul has slain his thousands, and David his tens of thousands?" David once fought the Philistines and they could not believe him to help them. This time David had good intentions towards them because of the kindness of Achish but they could not accept him because of the encounter they had with him. Don't false yourself to give help where your help is not needed. Even Jesus redrew from Nazareth when they did not accept His ministry. Sometimes God uses such situations to deliver us. It was in this battle that King Saul and all his children died. David would have had a hand in it. When men reject your good intentions just leave things as it is. God knows your heart.
Prayer: Father I thank you for the gift to minister grace to all people. Grant me wisdom to know when to act and when to redraw in Jesus' name. Amen
