FORGIVENESS

1Samuel 24:12-13 May the LORD judge between you and me. And may the LORD avenge the wrongs you have done to me, but my hand will not touch you. As the old saying goes, ’From evildoers come evil deeds,’ so my hand will not touch you.

David was a very wise person. He would not soil his hands by killing Saul. King Saul had done a lot of evil including killing the priests of God. It was not for David to kill such a man, his sin was enough to kill him. Vengeance is of God. Sometimes we want to avenge people who wrong us. Sometimes God gives our enemies into our hands to test your heart. David never knew that someday to come he was going to fall into the sin of adultery and will need the forgiveness of God. Matthew 6:12 And forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors. God forgives us when have forgiven others. Forgiveness is the way to be forgiven.

Prayer: Holy Spirit teach me the truth about forgiveness and help me forgive others as well in Jesus' name. Amen.
