DID YOU ASK THE LORD?

1Samuel 30:8 and David inquired of the LORD, "Shall I pursue this raiding party? Will I overtake them?" "Pursue them," he answered. "You will certainly overtake them and succeed in the rescue."

Is not any battle that we must engage in. David asked the Lord if he should pursue the raiding party that invaded his town and have taken people and property as ransom. Our instinct in such a situation would have been to pursue the enemy immediately. But not so with David. He took time to ask the Lord. He needed the Lord to be with him. If you are on God's mission he makes the provision and if you are on your mission you provide for yourself. Exodus 33:14-15 The LORD replied, "My Presence will go with you, and I will give you rest."
Then Moses said to him, "If your Presence does not go with us, do not send us up from here. David was not ready to go without the presence of God. It is dangerous to step into battles without God's approval you will lose because the battle is the Lords. Jesus after walking with his disciples said do nothing until you are endowed with power from the Holy Spirit. Acts 10:38 how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and power, and how he went around doing good and healing all who were under the power of the devil because God was with him. God being with you is key in winning daily victories. Don't venture any battle without the Lord's approval.

Prayer: Holy Spirit my present help, direct and teach my hands to battle the enemy as you lead me in victorious paths in Jesus mighty name. Amen.
