TAKING REFUGE IN THE LOVE OF GOD
1Samuel 22:2 All those who were in distress or in debt or discontented gathered around him, and he became their commander. About four hundred men were with him.
In times of distress, where do you seek refuge? Even when king Saul was seeking to destroy David, all those with issues thought it wise to be with him and he became their commander. What a life. Even in his distress time, he was seen as a son of encouragement. The people were comfortable taking refuge with David than king Saul. David means beloved or love. No matter what happens love does not fail. Therefore those in distress went to a man of love to be their commander.
Romans 8:35-39 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword? No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers,
neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord. Are you distress, broken, in dept, discontented? Take refuge in the love of God. Rest in his love and you shall be secured. Selah
Prayer: Holy Spirit remind me constantly that in all my anxieties and worries of life, I can always take refuge in the love of God in Jesus' name. Amen.
