LOVE WITHOUT MEASURE

1Samuel 23:1-2 When David was told, "Look, the Philistines are fighting against Keilah and are looting the threshing floors," he inquired of the LORD, saying, "Shall I go and attack these Philistines?" The LORD answered him, "Go, attack the Philistines and save Keilah."

What a man, no wonder the Lord calls him a man after his own heart. Though David been pursued by Saul when he heard the people of Keillah were being attacked he asked the Lord to go to their rescue. He endangered his life that others might be saved. John 15:13 Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends. This is what Christ did for us. But these same people whom David saved gave him up when Saul came in looking for him.
1 Samuel 23:12 Again David asked, "Will the citizens of Keilah surrender me and my men to Saul?" And the LORD said, "They will." The same was done to Christ by the very people he came to save. Jesus was given up for crucifixion at the expense of a criminal. Yet his love for us did not cease. You have done sacrifices for people without them appreciating it, but do not let your love cease. Continue to love and God will reward you for every sacrifice.

Prayer: Holy Spirit enlarge my fruit of love and take over bitterness out of my spirit in Jesus name. Amen.
