HONOUR

1Samuel 25:29 Even though someone is pursuing you to take your life, the life of my lord will be bound securely in the bundle of the living by the LORD your God, but the lives of your enemies he will hurl away as from the pocket of a sling.

This Abigail talking to David after her husband Nabal has been very rude to him, even after David and his men showed him kindness. Some people find it difficult to come to terms with themselves that God has lifted. Nabal a foolish and wicked man refused to recognize the grace upon David's life. 1Samuel 25:10-11 Nabal answered David’s servants, "Who is this David? Who is this son of Jesse? Many servants are breaking away from their masters these days. Why should I take my bread and water, and the meat I have slaughtered for my shearers, and give it to men coming from who knows where?" But not so with Abigail, she recognized David as the Lord's anointed and did what her husband failed to do. The Bible says if you give a prophet of God a cup of water to drink you will receive a prophet's reward. And Jesus said wherever you go and you are not accepted shake the dust of the city off your feet it will be worse for that city than it was for Sodom and Gomorrah. The judgment of God came over Nabal was Abigail was preserved. Choose to always honor the Lord's anointed.

Prayer: Holy Spirit open my eyes to the truth about honor and help to reverence all men especially your servants in Jesus' name. Amen.
