WHO TO PLEASE

1Samuel 15:24 And Saul said unto Samuel, I have sinned: for I have transgressed the commandment of the LORD, and thy words: because I feared the people, and obeyed their voice.

God had given another opportunity to king Saul to make things right but once again he failed to obey God. To God partial obedience is no obedience at all. Once again for the fear of the people he missed out on God. He loved to please the people than God. Your test of obedience to God is revealed when you have to choose between obeying the voice of God and the opinion of people. We claim to love God until we get to this point where we have the option of obeying God and people. At this point, the common trap most of us fall into is that we feel the people are closer to us than God and we often don't want to hurt their feelings. We see them express their emotions like sadness, tears, anger, anxiety, and so on and we are tempted to obey them rather than. But one thing we forget is that God is Omnipresent; the God that is ever existing anywhere at any time. The reality is God is closer to you and the person you are seeing. 2Corinthians 4:18 While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal. In the end, Saul finally lost his kingship. He faced the consequence of disobeying God alone. While the people walked freely. Always remember you are not alone but God is with you and He also feels the pain when you disobey Him.

Prayer: Lord Jesus help me always obey you and know that you are always with me each step I take. Grace Lord to obey you fully in Jesus' name. Amen.
