HOLY ANGER

1Samuel 11:1-2 Nahash the Ammonite went up and besieged Jabesh Gilead. And all the men of Jabesh said to him, "Make a treaty with us, and we will be subject to you." But Nahash the Ammonite replied, "I will make a treaty with you only on the condition that I gouge out the right eye of every one of you and so bring disgrace on all Israel."

There are times when you have done nothing to the enemy but he just wants to attack you. Sometimes their threats are so great you tend to surrender. The name Nahash means serpent. The devil is the serpent. Jabesh means dry. When the enemy sees you are dry he launches his attack. May you never be a dry Christian. Be full of the Holy Spirit and power. At the point of your surrender, the enemy just wants to disgrace you. The Philistines gouged out the eyes of Sampson and made him public ridicule. May any disgrace the enemy is planning for you go back to him in Jesus' name. The people of Jabesh did not succumb to the threat of the enemy. They went for a backup from the people. When you are dry and the enemy is attacking you, don't yield to the threats of the enemy. Call on your Christian brothers and sisters for prayer support.1 Samuel 11:5-6 Just then Saul was returning from the fields, behind his oxen, and he asked, "What is wrong with everyone? Why are they weeping?" Then they repeated to him what the men of Jabesh had said.
When Saul heard their words, the Spirit of God came powerfully upon him, and he burned with anger. Rise in Holy anger, pursue and attack the enemy for whatever he has taken from you, the family, and the body of Christ. Saul gathered an army they destroyed Nahash and the people of Jabesh had victory. Victory is assured if you will in Holy anger and wage war against the enemy.

Prayer: Father rise in holy anger to go after the enemy and to deliver others from his shame and reproach in Jesus' name. Amen.
