THE DANGERS OF FAITHLESSNESS

1Samuel 13:7-10 Some Hebrews even crossed the Jordan to the land of Gad and Gilead. Saul remained at Gilgal, and all the troops with him were quaking with fear.
He waited seven days, the time set by Samuel; but Samuel did not come to Gilgal, and Saul’s men began to scatter. So he said, "Bring me the burnt offering and the fellowship offerings." And Saul offered up the burnt offering. Just as he finished making the offering, Samuel arrived, and Saul went out to greet him.

King Saul out of fear and pressure of the people assumed the duty of a prophet. Which was against the will of God.
The people around Saul were afraid, the Prophet of God had delayed and the army Saul was going into disarray. Fear causes us to lose our faith and the moment you lose your faith nothing you do pleases God. The reason God rejected Saul's sacrifice is that it was done out of fear, not faith. Saul's action of faithlessness caused him and his generation a lot. They lost the kingship.
Hebrews 11:6a And without faith it is impossible to please God. In Hebrews 11 when God speaks about his servants he will always say by faith; By faith, Abel brought God a better offering than Cain did.  By faith Enoch was taken from this life so that he did not experience death: " By faith Noah, when warned about things not yet seen, in holy fear built an ark to save his family. By faith Abraham, when called to go to a place he would later receive as his inheritance. Fear tells you the people are going there is a delay. But faith says looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith. In the amid fear and delay keep your eye glued on Jesus. For God what pleases God is our actions of faith, not fear.

Prayer: Lord Jesus you have not given me the spirit of fear, I cast out fear from my life in Jesus and I rise in faith in Jesus' name Amen.
