THEOCRACY AND DEMOCRACY

1Samuel 8:6-7 But when they said, "Give us a king to lead us," this displeased Samuel; so he prayed to the LORD. And the LORD told him: "Listen to all that the people are saying to you; it is not you they have rejected, but they have rejected me as their king.

Men rejected the rulership of God and opted for the oppressive rulership of His fellow human. No form of rulership will bring liberation to Man. Whether democracy, monarchy, or autocracy, man was not going to enjoy total freedom. The rule of men has some form of oppressive rule in it. Yet humanity loved that men ruled over them than God. 1 Samuel 8:11-12 He said, "This is what the king who will reign over you will claim as his rights: He will take your sons and make them serve with his chariots and horses, and they will run in front of his chariots. Some he will assign to be commanders of thousands and commanders of fifties, and others to plow his ground and reap his harvest, and still, others to make weapons of war and equipment for his chariots.
When men rule over you, is about their interest first. You will labour to achieve their interest. The governments of the world are not there for us, they are there for themselves. Forget about the definition they give to democracy and other forms of human rulership. Once is about human rulership the focus is the leaders first. It about their interest says the Lord of Host. In times of war, pandemics the leaders are always protected, no matter how many people lose their lives those in authority will be preserved. But not so with God. Psalms 91:11-12 For he will command his angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways; they will lift you up in their hands so that you will not strike your foot against a stone. When God rules He lays down His Life for His very own. He does not leave you to fight the battles of life alone He fights for you. He has your interest at heart. All he does is for your interest. He knows you by name and has better plans for you better than any government.
Jeremiah 29:11 For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.

Prayer: Jesus my king forgive me for choosing the rulership of men over you. From today I submit to you as my Lord and King in Jesus' name Amen.
