PROVOKED INTO HIS PRESENCE

1Samuel 1:7 This went on year after year. Whenever Hannah went up to the house of the LORD, her rival provoked her till she wept and would not eat.

Mockery is even in the house of God. The rival of Hannah Peninnah kept provoking her about her barrenness even in the house of God. You can be in the house of God and not be in the presence of God. Being in his presence means God recognizing you and marking you present for an encounter. When you are in the house of God and you being mocked about an issue that only God can solve is not enough to go to the house of God. Where you need to go is His presence to present your case. On one occasion Hannah switched from just going to the house of God to going to the presence. When you go to the house of God you follow a routine of the way things are done there but when you go into His presence is a personal encounter. You forget the rules and routines and you pour out your heart before the Lord. In His presence is not Church service as usual. And this what confused the High Priest Eli because Hannah was in presence and not in the house of God. Eli was observing Hannah and all she was doing was not the way of prayer as usual.
1Samuel 1:12-15 As she kept on praying to the LORD, Eli observed her mouth. Hannah was praying in her heart, and her lips were moving but her voice was not heard. Eli thought she was drunk and said to her, "How long are you going to stay drunk? Put away your wine." "Not so, my lord," Hannah replied, "I am a woman who is deeply troubled. I have not been drinking wine or beer; I was pouring out my soul to the LORD. In His presence, you move out of the norm and engage with God at the heart level, not the head level. This what gets you the results when your situation has become a reproach. Is time to switch from just going to the house of the Lord to going into His presence for in His presence there is fullness of joy and at His right hand there are pleasures evermore.

Prayer: Lord Jesus Christ from today I switch from Just being in your house to being in your presence. Grant unto the blessings of being in your presence.Amen.
