THE THREAT TO YOUR SECURED POSITION

2Peter 3:17-18 Therefore, dear friends, since you have been forewarned, be on your guard so that you may not be carried away by the error of the lawless and fall from your secure position. But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and forever! Amen.

The only secured position there is in life is that which Jesus Christ has given us. Adoption into the kingdom of God. It is as secure as His word. So Paul in his letter in Romans 8:35-39 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword? For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers,
neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord
It very amazing that all these cannot separate us from the Love of Jesus Christ. What then threatens our secured position? Peter calls it the error of the lawless. Beloved let me introduce you to the lawless and his error. The lawless here is Satan and his error is pride. Pride is the threat to your secured position. The devil has no hand in the way of a proud person; God Himself resists the ways of the proud and eliminates them from their position. Isaiah 14:12-15 How you have fallen from heaven, morning star, son of the dawn! You have been cast down to the earth, you who once laid low the nations!
You said in your heart, "I will ascend to the heavens; I will raise my throne above the stars of God; I will sit enthroned on the mount of assembly, on the utmost heights of Mount Zaphon. I will ascend above the tops of the clouds; I will make myself like the Most High." But you are brought down to the realm of the dead, to the depths of the pit.
Pride will take you into the pit of hell. Therefore whatever you have just say is by the grace of God and desire to know more of God.

🛐 prayer: Holy Spirit circumcise my heart against pride. Let my heart be filled with grace and the knowledge of Christ Jesus Amen.
