THE MOCKER AND THE WISE

Proverbs 9:7-10"Whoever corrects a mocker invites insult; whoever rebukes a wicked man incurs abuse. Do not rebuke a mocker or he will hate you; rebuke a wise man and he will love you. Instruct a wise man and he will be wiser still; teach a righteous man and he will add to his learning."

 One group of people who will abound in the end times are mockers. Jude1:18-19 How that they told you there should be mockers in the last time, who should walk after their own ungodly lusts. These are they who separate themselves, sensual, having not the Spirit. Mockers reject correction. 

They ignore all forms of correction; the education system cannot correct them, the Constitution of a nation cannot correct them and they don't accept correction from their parents and godly elders. After they have failed to accept all these corrections and they get the opportunity to hear the gospel of Christ Jesus which is the most corrective and transformational instrument too they reject it. 

John 3:19-20 This is the verdict: Light has come into the world, but people loved darkness instead of light because their deeds were evil. Everyone who does evil hates the light, and will not come into the light for fear that their deeds will be exposed. Mockers have received their judgment already. 

Wise people love to be corrected. If you are rebuked in any way, as a wise person you will be pleased to turn from your sins and seek after what God wants, His love and purpose for your life  "rebuke a wise man, and he will love thee." I have heard people say in the church if the preacher doesn't step on their toes pretty often, he is not a good preacher. These are the wise who want to be reminded of their sins so they can repent to learn. 

It doesn't mean we should stop witnessing to mockers but we should do it wisely. When you witness to someone about the Scriptures trying to get them saved and they ridicule you for it and want to argue about it, it is best not to argue. Sometimes their guilt becomes so great, that they might tell lies and do you harm. This does not mean that we are to stop trying to help people come to the Lord; but it does mean if we see they are angered by our trying to help them, just go on and leave them, you keep on praying for such people, their day of salvation will come.

Desire to get knowledge of the Holy One which is the Almighty and that will bring understanding. God loves you and He wants to relate with you as a father and child. Accept Jesus today as you begin your journey of fearing the Lord.
