A SENSELESS AND A WISE YOUTH
Proverbs 7:7-10 I saw among the simple, I noticed among the young men, a youth who had no sense. He was going down the street near her corner, walking along in the direction of her house at twilight, as the day was fading, as the dark of night set in. Then out came a woman to meet him, dressed like a prostitute and with crafty intent.
Solomon addressed these verses of Proverbs six to a senseless youth. A senseless youth is a young man or woman who lives his or her life without direction. He or she ignores the word of God and they also reject the counsel of the godly elderly people. A senseless youth loves to operate in darkness. A senseless youth does not have control over his or her tongue they engage in ungodly conversation.
2Timothy 2:16 Avoid godless chatter because those who indulge in it will become more and more ungodly.
A senseless youth loves to walk him or herself into sexual impurity. They use their own phone, buy data, and orchestrate their way into sexual impurity. While the Bible says in 2Timothy 2:22 Flee also youthful lusts: but follow righteousness, faith, charity, peace, with them that call on the Lord out of a pure heart. They don't flee youthful lust, they embrace them in their bosom and later blame the devil for its consequences. Solomon wrote about them in Proverbs 6:26- 29 Can a man scoop fire into his lap without his clothes being burned? Can a man walk on hot coals without his feet being scorched? So is he who sleeps with another man’s wife; no one who touches her will go unpunished.
They do all the wrong things but expect to be innocent in the end. No! Whoever who scoops fire into his or her bosom will be burned. You shall be burned with STDs, premature death, unexpected pregnancy and you will have an irresponsible father or mother to your child. If care is not taken you may even miss out on God's plan for your life.
Ecclesiastes 12:1 Remember your Creator in the days of your youth, before the days of trouble come and the years approach when you will say, "I find no pleasure in them"
How can you remember your Creator? What about your Creator should you remember? You remember your Creator when you keep the word of God in your heart.
Psalms 119:9-12 How can a young person stay on the path of purity? By living according to your word. I seek you with all my heart; do not let me stray from your commands. I have hidden your word in my heart that I might not sin against you. Praise be to you, LORD; teach me your decrees.
God Himself told the young man Joshua in Joshua 1:8 Keep this Book of the Law always on your lips; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful.
2Timothy 3:15 and how from infancy you have known the Holy Scriptures, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus.
The clear difference between a senseless youth and a wise youth is how they handle and apply God's word.
Prayer: Father in the name of Jesus Christ I pray you make me a wise youth who upholds your word in every circumstance Amen.
