THE HIGH CALLING

Numbers 10:29- 30 One day Moses said to his brother-in-law, Hobab son of Reuel the Midianite, “We are on our way to the place the lord promised us, for he said, ‘I will give it to you.’ Come with us and we will treat you well, for the lord has promised wonderful blessings for Israel!” But Hobab replied, “No, I will not go. I must return to my land and family.”

God is in the business of calling individuals unto Himself and those who have been called by Him have been called into the business of calling others unto the Lord thus called to call. In our text for today, Moses calls his brother-in-law to come with them to the land which the Lord has promised them. Beloved whether you travel by air, land or water is migration from one land to the other. The people of Israel left Egypt the land of slavery to the Cannan promised land.

Beloved we have been promised a land by Him who has called us and that land is Heaven. By the grace of the Almighty God, all who have believed in Jesus are on our way to Heaven but we have a duty called by our Saviour and Lord Jesus Christ to call others along with us as we journey on. Beloved any day and any time you hear the gospel preached online, on radio and television, in the open, through songs, writings and many more you are been called to join us in the land of promise full of wonderful things and the precious presence of God.

One day Moses said to his brother-in-law, Hobab son of Reuel the Midianite, “We are on our way to the place the lord promised us, for he said, ‘I will give it to you.’ Come with us and we will treat you well, for the lord has promised wonderful blessings for Israel!” Beloved will be treated well, and wonderful things lie ahead. But the sad news is that most people turn this kind and heavenly invitation down. But Hobab replied, “No, I will not go. I must return to my own land and family.”

What a sad response from Mose's brother-in-law. In your own land and family there is no salvation neither have they been promised any land. But we have the Saviour Jesus Christ and have been promised the land of heaven but just like Hobab most of us are still turning down this great invitation. This is not the kind of invitation to turn down. If you hear the gospel preached to you today respond with Yes Lord and come with us to the land promised to us where great and wonderful things exist.

Prayer: Lord Jesus Christ I say yes to the call. Today am not turning down this invitation. Lord Jesus, I believe in you as my saviour and the Lord of my life, come and live in me. Amen.
