THE DISPLAY OF WISDOM

Deuteronomy 4:6 Therefore be careful to observe them; for this is your wisdom and your understanding in the sight of the peoples who will hear all these statutes, and say, Surely this great nation is a wise and understanding people.

Clearly from our text today you will notice that wisdom is distinct, people specific and situational. We have the wisdom of God and the wisdom of the world. 1 Corinthians 1:19 -21 As the Scriptures say, “I will destroy the wisdom of the wise  and discard the intelligence of the intelligent.”  So where does this leave the philosophers, the scholars, and the world’s brilliant debaters? God has made the wisdom of this world look foolish.

Since God in his wisdom saw to it that the world would never know him through human wisdom, he has used our foolish preaching to save those who believe. As believers, we have our wisdom and unbelievers also have their wisdom. The two are never the same and they do not have an intersection point. As a child of God, you display wisdom when you obey and live by the word of God. Simply, believing in Jesus Christ and living like Him is wisdom.

When you live this kind of life it is opposite to the world's wisdom they ridicule and make you look stupid but they lie by such actions.  Deuteronomy 4:6b When they hear all these decrees, they will exclaim, ‘How wise and prudent are the people of this great nation!’ They marvel at our level of wisdom. They know is better but they have chosen the way of ignorance.

Romans 1:22-23 Professing to be wise, they became fools, and changed the glory of the incorruptible God into an image made like corruptible man--and birds and four-footed animals and creeping things. There is no wisdom better than the wisdom of God through Jesus Christ. If you have not encountered Him you have not known wisdom yet. And if you have believed in Him and you lacking in any way His wisdom abounds just ask.

Prayer: Jesus Christ I believe you are the ultimate wisdom of God.  Come into my heart and give me more of your wisdom in Your matchless name I pray. Amen.
