SEASONS OF BLESSINGS

Deuteronomy 11:13-14 And it shall be that if you earnestly obey My commandments which I command you today, to love the Lord your God and serve Him with all your heart and with all your soul, then I  will give you the rain for your land in its season, the early rain and the latter rain, that you may gather in your grain, your new wine, and your oil.

One of God's surest words He uses in dealing with us constantly is His operation with humanity is times and seasons. Genesis 8:22 "While the earth remains, Seedtime and harvest, Cold and heat, Winter and summer, And day and night Shall not cease." In this side of life, God respects and honours seasons, it is a covenant He has with us.

One way proven by God which He uses to honour these times and seasons in our lives is our obedience to His word. This fact is soo true that David the man after God's own heart wrote it down in his first Psalm. Psalms 1:2-3 But his delight is in the law of the Lord, And in His law he meditates day and night. He shall be like a tree Planted by the rivers of water, That brings forth its fruit in its season, Whose leaf also shall not wither; And whatever he does shall prosper.

When God was commissioning Joshua the servant of Moses to take up the role of leading the Israelites after the exit of Moses he too was given this same charge by God. Joshua 1:8 This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success.

Our season of blessing may manifest or delay as the result of obeying or disobeying God's word. Sometimes we are the ones who disobeyed God at other times we may not be directly involved but live to bear the consequences. Whichever way it may be you still have the word to rectify it. Adam and Eve were enjoying the blessings of God till they disobeyed the word and came under the curse of the word. God's word is both a blessing and a curse. A blessing to those who obey Him and a curse to those who disobey Him. Will you obey or disobey God's word?

Prayer: Father forgive me in any way I have gone against your word. Have mercy on me and pardon me of the consequences of disobedience. Holy Spirit help me to continually obey God's word and to live by it in Jesus' name. Amen.
