SENT

John 20:21 So Jesus said to them again, "Peace to you! As the Father has sent Me, I also send you."

Jesus Christ made it clear during His life on earth that He had been sent. To be sent means to be on a mission within a stipulated time. Jesus' assignment on earth ended after His death and resurrection. While on earth He made clear His mission statement. Luke 4:18-19 "The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me, Because He has anointed Me To preach the gospel to the poor; He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted,  To proclaim liberty to the captives And recovery of sight to the blind, To set at liberty those who are oppressed; To proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord."

In His mission statement, He tells us what enabled Him to go about His mission. Here on earth to do anything for the Lord you need the Holy Spirit and His anointing. Acts 10:38 How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power, who went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with Him. When Jesus Christ was sent here on earth the raw material He was given was the Holy Spirit and with Him, He was able to do all that God expected Him to do.

Jesus Christ has sent all believers on a higher task. He was limited to the Jews but we have been assigned the whole world. Just as Jesus' assignment ended with His death on the cross with the statement "It is finished". Yours will also end at your death, it will be finished for you. Jesus even before His death could tell the Father that he had done His bidings on earth. John 17:4 I have glorified You on the earth. I have finished the work which You have given Me to do.

Will you have the confidence to make the same statement to the father? Do you have works to prove that you are about the Father's business now? You should know before your death. Don't miss out on the mission. Our field is the world, the message is the Gospel, and the raw material is Holy Spirit.  Go for you have been Sent. Acts 1:8 But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth."

Prayer: Holy Spirit without you I cannot fulfil the heavenly assignment. You are my available raw material, with you I can do anything, help and empower to be effective and fruitful with the mission in Jesus' name. Amen.
