WHICH PORTION OF THE WORD ARE YOU LIVING?

Zechariah 5:4 The LORD Almighty declares, ’I will send it out, and it will enter the house of the thief and the house of anyone who swears falsely by my name. It will remain in that house and destroy it completely, both its timbers and its stones.’"

The word of God is saturated with God's love, goodness, mercy, healing, wonders, grace and so on. These are beautiful attributes of God that we often love to share. But in this same word, we see the fierce anger and judgement of God come upon those who disobey Him.

Zechariah five begins with the vision of a flying scroll. And this scroll had a direction; it was going around the whole town. And it had a word written on it called the curse. Beloved the word of God contains blessings and curses. The portions of the blessing belong to those who obey and follow the will and the ways of God. The curse is for those who do otherwise. Deuteronomy 30:19-20 This day I call the heavens and the earth as witnesses against you that I have set before you life and death, blessings and curses. Now choose life, so that you and your children may live and that you may love the LORD your God, listen to his voice, and hold fast to him. For the LORD is your life, and he will give you many years in the land he swore to give to your fathers, Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.

If you don't repent from your evil ways the word of God will enter your home and destroy you and your family. You are a thief if you take that which belongs to other people, the community and the government. You are a thief if you use the power at your disposal to intimidate and take advantage of people. You are a thief if you twist the word of God to your advantage and disobey His word. Today fear the power of gods than God Almighty. They would rather choose to swear falsely using God's name because they know God is slow in anger. Beloved the name of the Lord is Holy and not to be toyed with. Anytime you swear by God's name you bring judgement upon you and your household and generation unborn. What you do with God's word determines the portion you would receive, either a blessing or a curse. Choose to be part of those whose God's word brings them a blessing.

Prayer: Father I thank you that your word is full of blessings and there are curses in there too. Holy Spirit help me obey your word that I may obtain your blessings in Jesus' name. Amen
