THE END OF THE POWER STRUGGLE

Zechariah 14:9 The LORD will be king over the whole earth. On that day there will be one LORD, and his name the only name.

We live in a world where it looks like everyone is either going in for a title or people are seriously defending their positions. At the entrance of gates, on doors, on tags, even parking lots show people's position in life. Above all people carry their titles in their hearts and mind. What a power-driven world.

Zechariah 14:6-7 On that day there will be neither sunlight nor cold, frosty darkness. It will be a unique day —a day known only to the LORD —with no distinction between day and night. When evening comes, there will be light. The last chapter of Zechariah gives us a slight picture of the day of the Lord. It is a day only known to him. On that day times, and seasons will not exist because we will be living in time with God. Humans rule over territories but the Lord our God will rule without limit. He got the whole in His hands and He will be King over all the earth.

We have kings and presidents but have people who rule on their behalf because they have given them that authority. On the day of the LORD, we won't have sub-chiefs, deputies, and so on. On that day there will be only one LORD. Just one, and all of us we called the servants of the Most High God. We have to tune our minds to the fact that positions will not last forever. We ought to learn to serve one another because in the end we will all be called servants of the most High God.

Prayer: Holy Spirit, give me the spirit of a servant that I may serve and be worthy of service to the father on that day. Amen.
