THE BELIEVER WITHOUT AUTHORITY

Zechariah 3:7 "This is what the LORD Almighty says: ’If you will walk in obedience to me and keep my requirements, then you will govern my house and have charge of my courts, and I will give you a place among these standing here.

It is a powerful experience to be born again and to be called a child of the Most High God but not every believer has authority. Some people are living the mere Christian life while others have authority. Are you a mere believer or you are a believer with authority?

Zechariah chapter three begins with the story of the High priest Joshua. His title alone presupposes that he had to be a man with great power and authority yet he was without one. 1 Corinthians 4:20 For the kingdom of God is not a matter of talk but of power. This kingdom is not about the accolades and title you have, it is about the power of God. Joshua was a high priest yet he had no authority in God's house and his courts. Physically he was occupying a position but in spirit, he did not have authority. Men may know you as a believer, Bishop, pastor, or evangelist and yet operate without power and authority in your area of jurisdiction. This is a mere or ordinary Christian life, the lips and people service; in the eyes of men you are something but in God's eye you are nothing. May that never be your story.

There mere Christian is the one Satan dares to accuse. Zechariah 3:1 Then the angel showed me Jeshua the high priest standing before the angel of the Lord. Satan was there at the angel's right hand, accusing Jeshua of many things. Beloved, the enemy will continue accusing you, if you don't shun evil. Satan was not standing on the left-hand side of Joshua but his right-hand side; meaning he was right. Nobody gives a position to a person with a lot of scandals and accusations. God does not cast His pearls before swine. Zechariah 3:3 Now Joshua was dressed in filthy clothes as he stood before the angel.
Precious one there is an assignment in your life and God needs you to fulfil that call. But that will never be possible if you perpetually wallow in sin. Zechariah 3:4-6 The angel said to those who were standing before him, "Take off his filthy clothes." Then he said to Joshua, "See, I have taken away your sin, and I will put fine garments on you." Christ Jesus has forgiven and restored but He has this charge for you; until you obey him and keep His requirements, you can never be a believer with authority.

Prayer: Lord Jesus Christ thank you for washing away my sin with your blood and restoring me. Holy Spirit empower me to obey and walk in the requirements of God so that I may be a believer with authority in Jesus' name. Amen.
