THE COMMISSION OF FIRE

People who put firepot in a woodpile are intentional about it. They are not just burning the wood but they are turning it into another raw material called charcoal or coal. When the woodpile becomes coal; it becomes handy and can be distributed to many homes.

What God meant in Zechariah 12: 6 is what Jesus Christ told the apostles in Acts 1:8 But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.” It means the power you have received as a firepot must burn woodpiles that can turn into coals and enter different homes. The number one commission of fire of the Holy Ghost is to turn men unto righteousness so that they will, in turn, go into other woodpiles and burn them thus winning souls and turning the souls into disciples, and this cycle must continue till the Gospel of Christ Jesus is preached everywhere on earth where there is life.

On the day of Pentecost, the Holy Ghost; the firepot visited 120 woodpiles and turned them into coals entering individuals, homes, cities, and nations with the gospel of Christ Jesus the gospel got to you. It is your turn to burn as coal to turn other woodpiles into preachers of the gospel. Another symbol of the Holy Spirit given in Zechariah 12:6 is that; He is a flaming torch among sheaves. Sheaves are bundles of stalks of grains left after harvesting, they can be called waste products. The Holy Spirit in the life of a believer must destroy any waste in his or her personal life. Waste here simply means anything that does not conform to God's word. This is this same flame we use to quench the fiery darts of the enemy.
The role of the flaming torch is within and without; it works on your believer and the eternal environment. As believers, we must ensure we operate fully with the fire God has entrusted into our hands. It is for service and not Lordship. If the fire is not handled properly it becomes disastrous. May the fire of the Holy Spirit with you be desirous and not disastrous.

Prayer: Holy Spirit, set me on fire once again. May I fully fulfill the commission of the fire of the Holy Spirit. Help me to use my fire to always glorify you in Jesus' name. Amen!
