YOUR PEACEKEEPING MISSIONS
1Timothy 2:2 Pray this way for kings and all others who are in authority, so that we can live in peace and quietness, in godliness and dignity.
At the helm of affairs are people who make decisions that have a direct and indirect impact on our lives. We may never know them, but there is something we can do that will influence them just as they make and take decisions that affect our lives.
For your peace, quietness, godliness, and dignity, you must pray for leaders and those in authority. Sometimes is very difficult praying for these people because we think they don't deserve our prayers and rather they deserve God's judgment.1 Timothy 2:1 I urge you, first of all, to pray for all people. As you make your requests, plead for God's mercy upon them, and give thanks. One of the prayers to say for
leaders are to implore God's mercy for them and pray that they will execute the will of God.
You don't need to be security personnel to go on peace missions. Your constant prayers for leaders can be your peacekeeping mission. In fact, there will be no need to dispatch peacekeeping officers if we make praying for our leaders a priority. 1Timothy 2:1 I urge you, first of all, to pray for all people. Before you pray for yourself and your family, the Bible urges us to first pray for all people, especially those in authority. Remember your peace, quietness, dignity, and godliness are in the hands of people who you never meet to advise or share opinions with them. The only way you can get to them is through your prayers, so pray not your complaints.
Prayer: Father, in Jesus' name, I pray for all people, especially for those in authority; as I pray for them, execute your will through my prayers. May every decision they take be geared towards our godliness and peace in Jesus' name. Amen.
