WHAT ARE YOU TEACHING?

1Timothy 1:5-6 The purpose of my instruction is that all the Christians there would be filled with love that comes from a pure heart, a clear conscience, and sincere faith. But some teachers have missed this whole point. They have turned away from these things and spend their time arguing and talking foolishness.

The instructions Paul gave Timothy are found in 1 Timothy 1:4 Don't let people waste time in endless speculation over myths and spiritual pedigrees. These things only cause arguments; they don't help people live a life of faith in God. In our text today, Paul gives us the relevant things we must focus on.

The basis and foundation of our faith is love coming from a pure heart, clear conscience, and a sincere faith. Anything you do as a Christian not motivated by genuine love is zero. But what do we see today? We have teachers who would rather spend time explaining heresies to win people unto themselves. No wonder people have faith in men and women of God and their tokens instead of having faith in God.

Jesus said will the Son of Man find faith on th earth when he returns. If we want people to grow in faith, let's teach God's unadulterated word in love and a pure conscience and stop wasting our time on myths and spiritual pedigrees that cause people only to argue and not have faith in God.

Prayer: Holy Spirit, I pray that you filled me with love and the knowledge of your son Jesus Christ that I will focus on that which is relevant in building people up in their faith in Jesus' name. Amen.
