WHY THE TIMES ARE DIFFICULT

2Timothy 3:1-2  You should also know this, Timothy, that in the last days there will be very difficult times. For people will love only themselves and their money. They will be boastful and proud, scoffing at God, disobedient to their parents, and ungrateful. They will consider nothing sacred.

The economic index of most nations are on the rise, and citizens are pointing fingers at leaders and possible situations and events that have contributed to the world's economic crisis. Everyone seems to be pointing a finger at A or B. But know that when you point out a finger in one direction, all the rest of your fingers point back to you. We are responsible for the difficult times according to God's word.

The reason for global and economic crises is that people love themselves and their monies only. People have become greedy and selfish. All people think about is their money, so they don't mind extorting money illegally from the national purse and others, killing for money, taking bribes, selling products, goods, and services at exorbitant prices, investing in get-rich schemes to possess monies, they can call their own. Acts 4:34 that there were no needy persons among them. For from time to time those who owned land or houses sold them, brought the money from the sales and put it at the apostles’ feet, and it was distributed to anyone who had need. These acts of generosity alleviated poverty and difficult times in the early church that non were labeled as poor. Even the church has failed in this regard; how about the families and the world at large. Things will worsen if you don't practice this biblical truth of sharing what you have with others. It starts with you and me sharing what we have with others, let families do the same, let the church do the same, and let governments, individuals, and organizations keep doing it from time to time if situations would not get better.

Other reasons for the difficulties we are experiencing are negative character and morality lapses. Boastfulness, scoffing at God, disobedience to parents, and ungratefulness, considering nothing sacred,  unloving and unforgiving; slanderous, lack of self-control; they will be cruel and have no interest in what is good. Betrayal in friendships, recklessness, being puffed up with pride, and loving pleasure rather than God. Every mentioned above has made life difficult for someone. Because of a lack of self-control, someone is in jail; reckless driving has caused many road carnages that have left some victims with disabilities making life difficult for them. Your unloving and unforgiving nature has made life difficult for some people. It is contributing factor to the global crisis today. The peak of our problems is neglecting God. God is not the enemy here, okay; He is our remedy. If you walk in His ways, we will have redemption.

Prayer: Father, in Jesus' name, have mercy over humanity, we have neglected your ways and made life difficult for ourselves, and we turn to blame you. Father, we are deeply sorry again, have mercy on our world, and tend our hearts to walk in your ways, Lord Jesus. Amen
