THE KEY TO DIVINE ESTABLISHMENT
Isaiah 22:15-16 This is what the Lord, the LORD Almighty, says: "Go, say to this steward, to Shebna the palace administrator: What are you doing here and who gave you permission to cut out a grave for yourself here, hewing your grave on the height and chiseling your resting place in the rock?
Chapter 22 of Isaiah talked about the Valley of Vision. It was a judgment against the house of David because they had fallen short of God's standard. In this chapter, God through His prophet of God Isaiah talked about two leaders Shebna and Eliakim. Shebna means vigor and Eliakim means the one God lifts or sets up. There are two kinds of people who rule and reign in life. Some rule for a short season and others rule for long. In God's standard humble people rule and reign for a very long time. God establishes them for a long time. People with pride want to make a name for themselves and are quickly cut off. The kingdom of David was established forever because of his humility. The Kingdom of Christ Jesus has been forever established because of humility. Philippians 2:5-9 In your relationships with one another have the same mindset as Christ Jesus: Who, being in very nature God, did not consider equality with God something to be used to his advantage; rather, he made himself nothing by taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness. And being found in appearance as a man, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to death — even death on a cross! Therefore God exalted him to the highest place and gave him the name that is above every name. The key to the ruling, reigning, and being divinely established is humility. Be humble.
Prayer: Father in the name of my Lord Jesus Christ I pray for the grace and power to be humble at all times to please you and be divinely established in Jesus' name. Amen.
