THE ESSENTIALS OF PRAYER

Isaiah 25:7-8 On this mountain he will destroy the shroud that enfolds all peoples, the sheet that covers all nations;  he will swallow up death forever. The Sovereign LORD will wipe away the tears from all faces; he will remove his people’s disgrace from all the earth. The LORD has spoken.

This verses understudy in Isaiah 25 is Prophetic about the joy of the saints in the end time. Where Christ Jesus our soon coming King will gather the Saints together. But in these texts as well we draw the benefits of prayer from it. The word Mountain can be symbolic of prayer. When David said Psalms 121:1 I lift my eyes to the mountains where does my help come from? He meant in prayers he got help from the Lord. The first benefit of prayer is divine provision and is found in verse six. Isaiah 25:6 On this mountain the LORD Almighty will prepare a feast of rich food for all peoples, a banquet of aged wine — the best of meats and the finest of wines. In the Lord's prayer, Jesus said, and give us this day our daily bread. When we pray God makes provision for our needs and gives us the very best. The second benefit of prayer is found in verse seven Isaiah 25:7 On this mountain he will destroy the shroud that enfolds all peoples, the sheet that covers all nations. There is deliverance for people and nations when we pray. The god of this age has blinded their eyes that they may not see the truth of God's light. It takes prayer to deliver and save a nation. Isaiah 25:8 he will swallow up death forever. The Sovereign LORD will wipe away the tears from all faces; he will remove his people’s disgrace from all the earth. The LORD has spoken. When we pray we active the healing power of God and overturn death sentences. King Hezekiah reversed his death warrant by praying. Furthermore from this text, we prayer brings joy and restoration. That is why James 5:13a says Is anyone among you in trouble? Let them pray. Prayer has great rewards don't stop praying.

Prayer: Father in the name of my Lord Jesus Christ through the power of the Holy Spirit let the grace of prayer fall on me to pray and receive the great rewards of prayer in Jesus' name. Amen.
