THE AMAZING BURGLAR

Isaiah 14:16-17 Those who see you stare at you, they ponder your fate: "Is this the man who shook the earth and made kingdoms tremble, the man who made the world a wilderness, who overthrew its cities and would not let his captives go home?"

The whole Mebor community was amazed when they finally set their eyes on their community burglar. A lanky 12-year-old boy named Zazs. They were surprised he has been the cause of many troubles and pain in the community. Making every household install a burglar-proof.
That is the kind of stare we will give the devil when we eventually meet him. From this description from the prophet Isaiah, we can have a fair idea of the devil's personality. He is a man just like us, yet causing a lot of havoc in this world and holding many captive. This verse also encourages us to know that the one we are up against is not somebody we cannot contend against. The bible says resist the devil and he will flee from you. For the community of Mebor, their resistance against Zazs was burglar-proof.
But for us believers, this is our weapon against him. Revelation 12:11 They triumphed over him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony; they did not love their lives so much as to shrink from death. Don't wait to regret when you set your eyes on the devil. Don't be part of those who will see him and be disappointed at the harm they allowed him to cause in their lives. But arise and face him squarely here on earth so that when you set on your eyes on him, you can say glory to God through Jesus Christ that I did allow the devil to have a Jolly ride over me.

Prayer: Lord Jesus Christ in your name, in your name I face the devil squarely to his amazement in your name. Amen.
