WHY WE FORGET HIS WORD

Luke 24:6-8 He is not here; he has risen! Remember how he told you, while he was still with you in Galilee: ’The Son of Man must be delivered over to the hands of sinners, be crucified and on the third day be raised again.’ "Then they remembered his words.

Because we are prone to forget, it is very important that we constantly hear the word of the Lord, either by reading the word ourselves or hearing others preach the word. The disciples had been with Jesus all this while, moreover, just three days ago at the last supper, He spoke to them about His death and resurrection. All too soon they had forgotten. It took the angels of the Lord to remind them of the Lord's word He spoke to them while he was with them. In this same chapter verse 25, Jesus in His disguised state was once again telling them about His resurrection. If the people who sat with Lord at the last supper could forget His words what about you and I operating with a word handed over to us. That is why daily reading and hearing the word of God is of almost necessity because without it you would lose your faith and if you lose your faith, nothing you do pleases the Lord. All other things you hear within the day have things they bring to your mind and your heart but to experience faith, it has to do with the word of God. The apostles forgot about the word, the women also forgot, it is likely you would also forget the word. You revisiting the word of the Lord daily reminds you constantly about Him and grows your faith. If you don't read again what you have heard from the word you will forget it. Hebrews 10:38-39 And, "But my righteous one will live by faith. And I take no pleasure in the one who shrinks back."But we do not belong to those who shrink back and are destroyed, but to those who have faith and are saved. And as you read engage the Holy Spirit to teach you the word of the Lord.

Prayer: Lord Jesus Christ I thank you for the gift of the Holy Spirit who is a constant reminder and teacher to me in revealing the truth about your word. Thank you for helping to daily read the word. Amen
