EARLY CHILDHOOD DISCIPLESHIP
Luke 18:15-16 People were also bringing babies to Jesus for him to place his hands on them. When the disciples saw this, they rebuked them. But Jesus called the children to him and said, "Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these.
Jesus Himself began seeking the kingdom of in His childhood days. Children love to go to the Lord but Adults are a hindrance to them. Can you imagine that it was the very disciples of Jesus rebuking people from bringing their children to Christ? They wanted to establish a wrong notion that children could not access Christ. Jesus Christ immediately corrects this notion. The kingdom of God belongs to children as well. Adult die and children die, therefore both need to hear the gospel of Christ Jesus. If we have early childhood education we must also have early childhood discipleship. If you don't hinder your child from going to school why hinder them from coming to Christ and participating in Christian activities. You have no problem driving your ward to school Mondays to Friday, plus you preparing for work. But it becomes stressful for you on a weekend when you are home driving your children to church activities and preparing them for Sunday services. You can trust teachers you don't know to impact their knowledge and experiences into your kids but fail to trust God who gives us the Gift of Children. 2 Timothy 3:15 And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus. Christian Parents and leaders let us disciple our children.
Prayer: Lord Jesus Christ, I release my children to you; receive and train them by the power of the Holy Spirit. Let your word take preeminence in their lives over any worldly knowledge they acquire in Jesus' name. Amen.
