THE REAL YOU

Luke 11:27-28 As Jesus was saying these things, a woman in the crowd called out, "Blessed is the mother who gave you birth and nursed you." He replied, "Blessed rather are those who hear the word of God and obey it."

The womb that carried the Word and nursed it is not blessed rather those who hear the word and obey it. It is not enough to carry the word of God or know much the word. What is important is your obedience to the word. God expects us to hear the word and to obey it. James 1:22-24 Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says. Anyone who listens to the word but does not do what it says is like someone who looks at his face in a mirror and, after looking at himself, goes away and immediately forgets what he looks like. Your mirror reflection is what you see about yourself in God's Word because that is real you.

Prayer: Lord Jesus Christ, I pray for the grace to be obedient to your word in Jesus' name.  Amen
