THE KING AND THE WINE

Mark:15.23:Then they offered him wine mixed with myrrh, but he did not take it.

Jesus even at the point of death and heavy thirst Jesus Christ did not compromise as a Nazarite. He did not take the wine given to Him on the cross. He held on to his belief and the instructions of God even at the point of death. The bible says if you fail in the day of your adversity then your strength is weak. Proverbs 31:4-5 And it is not for kings, O Lemuel, to guzzle wine. Rulers should not crave liquor. For if they drink, they may forget their duties and be unable to give justice to those who are oppressed. Alcohol abuse is very common in our days now. People who take in alcohol indulge in all forms of vices that endangers life and health. In as much as it may have health benefits the bible says if not good for kings and princes to go about guzzling alcohol, you are a prince and a princess of the Highest God and alcohol must be far from you. Its addiction is not easy to break away from. Maybe the soldiers wanted Jesus intoxicated so he forgets His sorrows and in a moment feel relief a bit. Alcohol intake does not solve the problems of life neither does it take away the pain. Its solution is temporal without any positive effect. It is the Word of God, that takes away the pain. In the midst of your confusion and chaos drinking is not the solution, put yourself together and trust God to give you the wisdom needed to come out of that situation.

Prayer: Lord kill any desire of alcohol addiction in me and replace it with the desire to trust in you and your Word in Jesus' name. Amen
