WORDS THAT BENEFIT

Ephesians 4:29 Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen.

What is your motivation for the utterances you make? Why do you talk the way you do? God has a serious interest in your words because He is the Word Himself. In the beginning, was the Word. Everything starts and ends with words and everything falls and rises with words. People have needs that will require your words to solve them. When your words do not meet the need of the person in question, then your talk becomes wholesome, idle, empty, or worthless. The Bible is very clear on the fact that we will be judged for every empty word we utter Matthew 12:36 But I tell you that everyone will have to give account on the day of judgment for every empty word they have spoken.
The Bible says the only words you must utter is that which builds people according to their need so it will be beneficial to the one listening . Before we begin to speak we must ask about the need of that brother or sister and if we can't ask the individual we must ask God in prayer. In James 3, the bible teaches about the power of the tongue (words) and its diverse use. But the bible finalizes on it and says we cannot have our words bless and curse at the same time. Our words are only meant to edify and build each other up. What are your words doing to others? It about time you align your words to build others up. James 3:8-10 but no human being can tame the tongue. It is a restless evil, full of deadly poison. With the tongue, we praise our Lord and Father, and with it, we curse human beings, who have been made in God’s likeness. Out of the same mouth come praise and cursing. My brothers and sisters, this should not be.

Prayer: Holy Spirit take hold of my tongue from now, may the utterances from my mouth be acceptable in your sight, and may it edify and build up those who listen in Jesus mighty name Amen.
