A COMMENDABLE THING TO DO
1Peter 2:19-20 For it is commendable if someone bears up under the pain of unjust suffering because they are conscious of God. But how is it to your credit if you receive a beating for doing wrong and endure it? But if you suffer for doing good and you endure it, this is commendable before God.
Your level of endurance shows your level of God-consciousness. We have been called to the ministry of suffering. It is the way the Master went should not we, His servants thread it still. The reason why the world does not see Christ in us is that we don't want to supper like Christ. What comes out of you in the midst of afflictions shows your affiliation to Christ. We retaliate at the least provocation, we want to prove ourselves right, we can't overlook things, we know our rights and privileges and we can't watch to be cheated. Endurance is missing in us as believers what we like is enjoyment. If we don't endure the world cannot enjoy the Christ in us.
2Timothy 2:3 Join with me in suffering, like a good soldier of Christ Jesus.
We have been called to join in the sufferings of Christ. It means you must endure insults, go hungry, and forgo our rights and privileges even when we are right.
1Peter 2:23 When they hurled their insults at him, he did not retaliate; when he suffered, he made no threats. Instead, he entrusted himself to him who judges justly.
The believer is not privileged to enjoy instance justice, you will suffer injustice for God to justify you. Which do you prefer to self-justification or God's justification? In the face of all your trials just say let God judge.
prayer: Lord Jesus Christ a heart like yours, is what I desire. Give me the grace of endurance at all times to overlook my rights and privileges that the world may see Christ in me Amen.
