THE LORD'S FAVOUR FOR THE WICKED
Most people are waiting for God to take vengeance on the wicked. When we see the wicked fall and stumble the common thing we say is that it serves him or her right. That is how we mostly think of human beings. Some even seek the downfall of good people how much more the wicked. But it is not so with the Lord. Ezekiel 33:11 Say to them, ’As surely as I live, declares the Sovereign LORD, I take no pleasure in the death of the wicked, but rather that they turn from their ways and live. Turn! Turn from your evil ways! Why will you die, people of Israel?’
The Lord delights in the salvation of the wicked if they repent. God hates the actions of wicked people but He loves them and seeks their repentance. He does not permit you and me to condemn the wicked. In Genesis when Cain killed his brother Abel, God gave him a mark so no one will harm him.
Genesis 4:15 But the LORD said to him, "Not so; anyone who kills Cain will suffer vengeance seven times over." Then the LORD put a mark on Cain so that no one who found him would kill him.
King Ahab was spared for his evil deeds when He repented. Saul was forgiven and chosen to be part of the Apostles of the Lord Jesus Christ. Who are you to disqualify someone because of their wickedness or weaknesses? Jesus said in John 8:7 When they kept on questioning him, he straightened up and said to them, “Let anyone of you who is without sin be the first to throw a stone at her.”
God has not called to throw stones at the wicked, what He needs you to do is to direct them towards His Saving Grace. Surely there is hope for the wicked who repents and seeks the Lord.
prayer: Lord Jesus Christ give a heart that administers grace to people in their weaknesses and the power pray for their repentance in Jesus mighty name.
