THE GRACE OF GIVING

2 Corinthians 8:2-4 In the midst of a very severe trial, their overflowing joy, and their extreme poverty welled up in rich generosity. For I testify that they gave as much as they were able, and even beyond their ability. Entirely on their own, they urgently pleaded with us for the privilege of sharing in this service to the Lord’s people.

The churches in Macedonia gave with understanding. Not that they were rich but in the midst of their trials and poverty they desired to share in service to the Lord's people by giving themselves first to Lord and their substances as well. Giving is not out of compulsion but is done out of their free will. When one understands giving he or she goes the extra mile thus excelling in the grace of giving. If you understand all you have received is by grace and it is a privilege to give to the Lord's service you will always look for an opportunity to give to support the kingdom business. We must sometimes deny ourselves of certain pleasures and comfort in other to enrich the Lord's service. Giving has nothing to do with having plenty or not

Prayer: Father give me an understanding on giving and anoint me to excel in this grace of giving. Bless me always to give in support of your kingdom in Jesus mighty name Amen
